When the sun begins its bow
and starts to slowly fade away
as it dips down slowly
and seeks refuge from its day
As it touches the darkness
ever so slightly
in quick refuge
for one second nightly
In brief repose
a moment of rest
an instant of coolness
a refreshing breath.
A moment of peace
free from the heat
relieved from the fire
that burns down deep.
When all is quiet
and cool and calm
Is it with me
that you belong?
At the end of the day
in the silence of night
could you then arise
for another Day's fight?

Hand grenades and Eight balls (and a smile)
by me: TalaWenZee (WMZ/Wendy M. Z. )
Through that darkened corridor
over the bridge and past the moor
of broken lives and fragmented bone
of hearts weakened but a will of stone
To the dungeon of despair
you made your way and found me there
With just one look you unlocked my chains
releasing me from centuries of pain
Your only weapons far as I could see
a hand grenade and a smile for me
A wish, a hope and a prayer
Your faith helped to get me there.
And on that night, you set me free
You'll never know what it meant to me.
Hand grenades, eight balls and a smile
Is all I needed all the while.

10 years ago & still one (of three) closest to my heart!
May the beauty never die (out). #SAVE THE WOLVES
Eyes glowing, shining, searching the night;
But I see beauty, devotion, loyalty and love;
Through the darkness of night, the cold or the rain;
I see patience and wisdom garnered through
I See Beauty

Eyes glowing, shining, searching the night;
Some people feel such a thing is a fright.
But I see beauty, devotion, loyalty and love;
The very same things most families dream of.
Through the darkness of night, the cold or the rain;
He'll guard his family, through hunger and pain.
I see patience and wisdom garnered through
strife;
Some see a dark predator, a legend of old;
Why can't we seem to learn such virtues of life?
Some see a dark predator, a legend of old;
I see beauty, THE WOLF, its spirit, its soul.

Time...
by me: Wendy M. Z. (wmz/TalaWenZee)
Seconds.
Minutes.
Hours.
Days.
Weeks.
Months.
Years.
Flashes.
Passes.
Stands
Still.
Frozen.
Muted.
Veers.
Heals.
Hurts.
Teaches.
Takes.
Changes.
Steadies.
Grows.
Tests.
Tells.
Follows.
Leads.
Remembers.
Forgives.
knows.

Portrait of Moments in Time...
by me: Wendy M. Z.
(aka: TalaWenZee)
November, 2013
A still life
a life stilled.
A self portrait
strong willed.
Stubborn, smart
stupid and willful
Determined, desolate
bleak, bright, cheerful.
Expressive, impressive
unimposing, weak.
Bold, colorful,
understated, meek.
Right, wrong
left of center.
Nothing, everything
student and mentor.
A contradiction?
An easy read?
A mystery?
A heart on a sleeve?
Snapshots and paintings,
answers and questions.
Truth, distortions,
surreal suggestions.
Periods wasted
or patches well spent?
A realistic view
or twisted and bent?
Painting in time
future, present and past.
Portraits to remember,
of moments to last.

Two chapters end, two new (bigger and better) chapters begin...
CONGRATULATIONS to my two (god)children
(they certainly were and are heaven sent)
on their 2013 graduations!
My niece, Bre, who graduated from Spring Hill College (in Alabama) on May 4, 2013 and my nephew, Jude, who graduated from 8th grade ~ at an undisclosed school, somewhere in southeast Louisiana ~ on May 15, 2013.
Both graduated with honors.
I'm so proud of them!
Soon, they'll both start the next phase/chapter of their lives.
Bre will begin her (true) adult life and her teaching career ~ at an undisclosed school, somewhere in southeast Louisiana ~ in August; and Jude will begin his high school experience and his ascent into young manhood.
Bold new adventures await them both.
Bright days and sunny skies.
New friends, opportunities and (self)discoveries.
Untested waters and stormy seas.
Battened hatches, broken rudders and windless sails.
But, they have been given the materials and the tools they'll need to make it through any storms they encounter.
They have anchors to steady them.
Faith to steer them.
(Moral) compass to guide them.
Confidence to propel them.
Hope to warm them.
And,
Love to secure them.
They have been given a solid foundation to build upon.
I have no doubt they will both build well and wisely!
I love you Bre and Jude!!!
Much Love and Hugs,
Nanny
